Week 6

This week Bobbie created the final page of the pitch bible and made slight changes to lighting on some of the other pages of the bible.

Shelby continued to develop the layout and of the Pitch Bible as well as enhance the cohesiveness throughout the pages. This is done through the consistency of undertones one browns, oranges and purples. I have taken our feedback into account and created the tools and user interface the display the game play more.

Homework

Shelby

For homework I have created this page based from the feedback that was given in class. I was able to use the reference images of Isaac and this made the drawing process a lot easier and accurate to the era. The photographed and edited textures have been placed on the table for a realistic look as well as keeping consistent through all of the pages as this texture has been used throughout the Pitch Bible.

I went through the Pitch Bible and found that each page while they were the same in style they weren't quite jelling, after a bit of playing around I found that it was because the background colours were slightly different from the others. Therefore by giving them all similar orange tones all of the pages connected to one another.

This week I refined the Pitch Bible text layout so that each page has a flow line and follows the grid but in an interesting way.

Adapted the infographics so that each box fit the text nicely.

Added in details for the resource management like the percentages, names, images, skill level bars etc.

Bobbie rendered the nurse and touched up the wife portrait. He also made changes to the cover at the request of the group and lecture.

Week 5

Lecture: Detail and craft
Studio:
Group meetings with tutors. Our group is now in the production phase of the project with each team member responsible for a part of the project, we haven't so much separated ourselves into line work, inker, colourist, layout artist., graphic design, but more delegated certain aspects of each page to a team member.

Mixups and development:

Shelby

I create this by manipulating multiple images together. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find all parts of the body through reference images for the look to be convincing.

This week I met with Harry outside of class and together we went through the Pitch Bible layout so that we could cut down the text we had on each page. We wanted to make sure that the information was approbate and to the point so that when reading it, it didn't feel like a task.

Week 4

Lecture: Gameplay and Episodes

Formative Assessment:
Presentation of development of cover page, Pitch bible layout and character aesthetic.

From this we were told that the world page had too many things going on in the background so to simplify that. Highlight the areas that need to be read to that its clear what is important information.

Studio:
We starting by printing out each of these pages and drawing over them all so that we could clearly see the aspects that needed to be focused on.

Group meetings with tutors.

Said that we were on track and not worried about where we are. To be conscious of text layout. Add in purples in the background to bring out the foreground colours.

Through a series of thumbnail sketches and refined ideas, we developed designs for the gameplay layout. We are coming into the final stages of design with our pitch bible and beginning to specialise into an area of production eg: line work, inker, colourist, layout artist.

Harry had been clear about the visual style from the beginning so figuring out the style wasn't difficult however finding a way to make everything look cohesive and as if they have been created by a singular person is the tricky part for us.

Homework

Shelby

Created the arms and the 3 different procedures that will need to be performed on for the mini games. Throughout this week I have also set up the Pitch Bible document file and layout that will be constantly developed and refined as further work progress.

Bobbie created a final render of the main character and then created the character page layout for presentation in week 4.

Week 3

Lecture : Pitch Spreads + Environment design

As a team we talked to Harry about the key pages that would be needed in the Pitch Bible. We sketches out the pages, how we will split up the categories and layout/divide the information. We are still be working in line art but starting to consider how the final work will be rendered. We also discussed the role of the team members in the final stages of the project eg: character designer, environment designer, line art, colour, final layout etc.
